Text Dad about getting Kimyee and Elli representation if they should win and get courted by companies.
He says he can put it on his resume. “Always keep an updated resume.”
I give Elli a recording of our pep talks.
Cyrillo is still considering who he is going to have build his car.
I’ll have to talk to the parents about seeing if they can bid on the rights for Phoenix.
Bobby comes in while we discuss our plans for graduation celebrations. Dad’s been planning mine since I was born, so there should be some plans for that. We want to do something at the school. What about our friends who cannot come here. Cynthia can only invite a few friends to hers.
She says she can invite me because of my popularity, but not the others. If Kimyee and Elli won the olympics beforehand, then probably yes. Okay. I think i’d rather be elsewhere.
Kimyee’s mother is planning on throwing her lot in with the other parents for a massive party.
Elli’s mother is going to be here and her dad will be at ODU’s graduation.
Dad sends the location – his personal party house. June 16 – 10 am until everyone leaves. Limos will pick them up.
Bonfire party on the 15th.
Cynthia’s party is the same night as mine, so I will not be going.
The party house has an Olympic sized pool and a huge hot tub. The external house will be locked up (no, it’s not a sex house anymore. Mom saw to that.)
Rogue shows up dressed to the nines and announces she’s going clubbing. After Bobby puts his eyes back in his head, he rushes off and changes to join her.
Kimyee looks to see where peter and his band are – California. So no bugging Peter tonight.
We finally settle on going to a club. The verdict is Pacha, one of the hottest clubs in NYC. I finally get to wear one of Aunt Katherine’s dress gifts.
We take the limo out and bring the club to a momentary standstill when we walk in. We dance and sing the night away, taking time to explore Space Ibiza. WE and fun and are unmolested by obnoxious people.
Agent Sitwell from SHIELD needs our help.
Command post just outside Safe Harbour. Meet there ASAP.
Inform Professor Munro that we’re leaving and gate to the igloo house location.
We head to the black vehicles and command van.
Sitwell is there. It appears one weapon escaped their roundup and is being used here in Safe Harbour. But another fricking gang. He thinks a non-cool reject who wanted to be in the gang made it work for the joys of acceptance and limitless, cosmic power.
They used it in a bank robbery downtown to break into the safe. A few collateral injuries, but no apparent deaths at this point. Hopefully they are not just really good at hiding the bodies.
And then Sitwell takes some valuable time to question our seriousness of purpose. Really? And we have not been doing this for a few years? Did we not rescue the Guardians?
I ask for the bank footage and reluctantly he gives it to me.
The robbers are masked and run out the front door, but no footage from outside.
They were very direct. Blow the door off its hinges, grab the money, and GTFO. The people throw themselves to the ground after the destruction and stay down until after the guys leave. The bad guys were very well covered – gloves, long masks, heavy coats, no visible identifying marks. 5 ppl. None of them appear to be other than men. Insead of El Onion we should call them Sweaty, smelly men.
Too low resolution to see detain and no cameras outside. Reflections? Nope. Time for ice cream.
The police are still interviewing witnesses, so the investigation is not complete. He’ll send a copy of the information later.
We head to the bank.
Chief Lannel replaced Chief Roberts as Chief of Police. We’ve never dealt with him. And then another guy – a detective – comes over and recognizes us. He was a beat cop that was promoted. Officer Raymond at the time we met him. He’s more than happy to have our assistance. His chief, on the other hand, would be upset with our involvement.
The robbers popped the safety deposit boxes. Random pattern. Took the teller money and the money in the safe. The dye packs were set off but did not apparently activate. It seems like they were local, but the noise trauma affected hearing and made it a bit difficult to identify.
Whomever enabled the gun and disabled the dye packs has to be brilliant with mechanics and/or technology. We need to go to the schools and interview the principals to find out who may have these qualifications.
No real information on how their technology works and I never had the time to look at the weapons we confiscated from Loki’s lackeys. It probably needs a power source, but not a biometric print since we saw Black Widow use one on the footage.
Schools or electric plant?
I call Minerva to ask Jarvis for realtime imagery of the electrical plant. We gate there. And wind up in the lobby freaking out the receptionist.
We argue with the plant supervisor about getting the records and we get a rant on supers, comments on freaks in costumes, and a complete refusal to help us. Finally he directs us to fill out paperwork, but tells us we have to use our full legal name.
So I call Sitwell.
He calls the supervisor and apparently chews him out for being an unhelpful prick. We are given whatever access or help we require.
We go see Foreman Johnson, who is very helpful. Unfortunately, he finds nothing of note.
Either it is self powered or they are using a lot of current over a period of time.
Or maybe he can power it himself. Great. Enter the bad metahuman.
He thanks us for our service to aid Earth by rescuing the Guardians.
We gate to the corner of Rape and Kidnapping to figure stuff out. I call Professor Reynolds to see if we can talk to him. He’s a bit busy now, being held hostage.
Bad guys at Richard Saunders holding everyone hostage. Asking for millions. The leader guy is getting a bit antsy.
I try and open a small gate for Icarus to go through and scan the room. Green FEAT. Oh well. No small, little cute gate for me. Big gate. Icarus charges through and we go right after him.
And the madness begins…
4 bad guys plus leader – Gunman and his lackeys
The gunman has the gun and it glows
Everyone is wearing their “disguises”
Is this Kenny and the Four Horsemen?
Helix encases the area around him and the gunman in crystal to prevent collateral damage. Yosono tries to freeze the trigger fingers of the guys near the hostages. And succeeds. I throw a force field between the hostages and the bad guys and wait for Synergy to get there so she can take over. She skates over and puts herself between the two. Helix moulds the crystal around the gunman. Yosono freezes more fiingers to disable their ability to shoot. One manages to avoid his fate while the other experiences the fun of frozen fingers. #5 shoots Yosono in the face. The others are whining about their frozen fingers. I tell #2 to surrender. “Fuck you!” I try and taz him. Zark! He’s stunned. I tell #4 to surrender. He’s fighting with himself out of fear of me or his bossman. I tell him to pass out and he drops to the ground. I taz #3. Red FEAT. He drops. Synergy gets the hostages out, guarding them as they leave.
Helix fires a few crystals at Mr. Gunman and gets a stun result. He shrugs it off. Yosono encases #5 in ice. And then leader guy shoots at the hostages. Synergy reflects it. And the leader fries, landing at Helix’s feat. Ew! We tell them to surrender and after seeing his boss dead, #5 gives up.
I try and take the gun, but it’s fused to his skin. Okay. Let’s leave that for SHIELD. I call them up and let them know what happened. And then Sitwell opens his mouth. “Oh, so she killed him.” he says in response to leader-guy’s death. Prick. We get into a rather heated conversation and I turn on my dad’s genes to slap him around with my sarcastic wit. Fortunately. Elli does not hear the conversation.
They arrive and he turns the Prickness up a notch. We get into a verbal battle and I wind up threatening him to leave Synergy alone. I also tell him “don’t call us; we won’t call you.” And then we leave.
Back at the school, Elli and Cyrillo lose their lunches over the situation while I update Professor Munro about what’s happening. She’s very supportive. I talk briefly with Cyrillo and Kimyee – who is with Elli- and after I fix tea go call my parents.
Mom seems a bit annoyed. Apparently she was informed that I threatened a federal agent. Stronghold has now placed me on their threat watchlist. Oh. So he wants to play it that way? Fortunately, Icarus records everything. I play it for my parents and mom’s reaction is “What a prat!” Yeah. That’s what I said. So she says she’ll take of it. She makes an appointment with Director Fury for the next day. What I would pay to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.
I update Cyrillo and Kimyee the next morning at breakfast while Elli sleeps. Sitwell better stay the hell away from Yosono if he wants to keep his body temp above 34 degrees. TBC…
