Allejandro trains with Professors Wagner and LeBeau. Ouch. That’s got to wake him up in the morning.
We chat with Bobby, Kitty, and Peter. They mention the danger room and explain what it is. The Guardians have one at Frost Mansion in the Berkshires. Adaptive AI that adjusts the difficulty of the simulations as they develop their skills.
Rogue went to powers practice with Prof X. She’s still getting counseling for having to use her powers against her will.
We do our homework and then go off to do various projects. I upgrade my tablet. Nano-array processor and memory. Make changes to the OS (from me and Elli)
Elli, Kimyee, and Cyrillo go out and exercise. I go to the lab. Allejandro goes off joy-riding.
Tuesday, March 8
The day passes normally and then we have powers practice. Cyrillo practices phasing; Kimyee practices her carrier wave fighting; I practice with postcognition; Allejandro practices with healing; Ellie practices tracking
Postcognition sucks, but now I know all the best trysting spots at the school. More importantly, the ones where the students are not getting caught. Apparently, Prof X was a bit of a mack daddy in his time. There’s a tree in the yard that gave off some very interesting resonances. Better not mention the festivities to Mom and Dad so they will let me attend.
At dinner, we discuss our names and costumes. We are going skating on Wed.
Do homework, and then go into the lab to create the polymer for the sheath. (Red FEAT) Woot! Dr. McCoy is going to do trials.
Wednesday, March 9
Classes go well and uneventfully.
Instead of doing our regular powers practice, we get to go into the danger room. Nifty. Unlike the Guardians’ room, it has a much greater range of levels to adapt to lesser powered people like us schmucks.
Us vs The Machines
I roll well for my initiative. I go fir… crap. Elli goes first. Wench. She gets grabbed, as usual. I turn the grabber to water. 00 bitch. She’s now wet but free. Woot!
Obsidian misses by a mile. Elli takes a stun to the face. She squeeks on reflecting it. Eek!
Yosono tries to stop the flame-thrower, which attacked me and missed by a micron. It does not go so well. Flamethrower 1, Yosono 0; then she gets punched. Ouch.
Synergy hits the stunner. It fries like a cheese sandwich. Obsidian punches the hell out of the puncher.
Prof X is impressed. He says we can use it more or wait until we come back. Is that an invitation? It will be. WOOT!!!!!! I bet Mom heard that across the planet.
Go check with Dr. McCoy and show him the plans for the quantum nanodots to impregnate the polymer.
Time for dinner and homework.
We go out skating. Professor Monroe is our chaperone.
I wear a silver Christian Dior skirt and the nifty grey and silver blouse. What? I like to be fashionable sometimes.
We have a good time until the random assholes arrive. MS13 assholes. Peter would be so excited. Pay for protection. What? Seriously? Idiots. We proceed to have an intellectual discussion on the merits of eating pizza vs. shooting us in the heads. Thanks to Bobby giving Miss Gang Thang the uber-chills, they gtfo to get her to the ER and warn us to be elsewhere next Wednesday. I guess they have an appointment with the rink.
We talk with Peter about putting a stop to their idiocy next week. I’ll be up here anyway dropping off my homework, so maybe I’ll accompany his large metal friend.
They’re probably waiting for us outside to stomp us and take out their horny urges on us with dumpsters.
Fortunately for us, Storm drove them away with the power of the weather. We don’t know this, but our comic readers were pleased.
I need to send Peter a light keyboard along with a signed copy of Aunt Katherine’s latest movie poster
We go back to the institute and go to bed.
Thursday, March 10 screeches to a halt and kicks us in the head. Soon, our time here in paradise will be over.
Class goes well and is lots of fun as normal.
We go to powers practice. I ask Prof X if there’s a way to measure my TK and hyperspeed.
He sends me out to a test track with Prof. Summers.
Unfortunately, the place for testing the TK was last used by one of the professor’s former students who died recently. Prof. Summers is upset and I feel like a total arse. So I pick up the weights as quickly as possible and gtfo. He comments that she tried to lift them all at once, making me ultra glad I took the less impulsive route for once. Sometimes, having Mom’s voice in my head is not a bad thing.
We go back to the Institute. Prof. Summers walks into a conversation with me and Allejandro about how much damage I can take. He is unwholesomely enthusiastic about shooting me, but wiser heads prevail and the professor offers to use his optic blasts at the lowest level and dial it up to test my resilience. I love this plan!
We do dinner, homework, and training.
I go meet with Dr. McCoy. I bring the nanodots (Yellow FEAT), but was unable to program them to pass the neural impulses one way. I’ll have to go back later if it does not work. He has physical scans of her so I create the arm sheaths. They cure overnight.
Friday, March 11
It’s a bittersweet time, since we have to leave tomorrow morning. I enjoy my classes and the challenges of not being bored out of my mind.
Powers practice – with Storm
She pushes Kimyee to hesitate less and recover from killing that dude. She lectures her about putting others at risk with her determination to never have an accident like that happen again. She’s second-guessing herself, which is understandable, but annoying.
Professor Summers gets to shoot at me. Woot for him. Hopefully it makes him feel better about my bringing back the memories of the other girl with TK. My parents will never find out about this.
He dials it up until it is the equivalent of a 50 caliber rifle. I get a pinprick at that point, so let’s avoid anything larger.
After practice, I gtfo to the lab. THE GLOVES!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
But I cannot find Rogue. Crap.
Go hang by the tree and read my assignments.
Meanwhile, Kimyee and Ellie are creating an ice skating rink using the yard and a hose.
Allejandro and the others plan a surprise party in the cafeteria. We go.
I find Rogue and show her the sheaths. I’m surprised I manage to talk her into trying them on and touching me. IT WORKED!!!! WOO HOO!!!!
Rogue is very happy. She goes and touches Bobby’s face and the dance. I’ll have to consider a body sheath now. She may not be able to have sex, but she could wear a bikini.
We go ahead and get ready to leave. The partay is tomorrow. Wonderful. Finish homework and we’re outta here.
They can give remote commands but I would need the source code to block them
Possibly can reactivate them if deactivated
Code encrypted in executable format (no source code in nanites)
